Why the cycle changes through the year
Mowing in Newcastle is a moving target
Warm-season grasses
Couch, kikuyu and buffalo make up most local lawns and do nearly all their growing in the warm half of the year. From October to March they want a cut every 7–10 days; May to August a three or four-week cycle is plenty.
Coastal sand vs western clay
Sandy blocks around Stockton, Fern Bay and Fingal Bay drain fast and dry out, so we lift the height in summer to hold moisture. Heavier clay through Maryland, Fletcher and Cameron Park stays growing later into autumn.
Shaded lawns
Lawns under established trees in Hamilton, Merewether and New Lambton thin out if they're cut short, so they're left a notch longer all year.
We adjust with the season
Height and frequency change as the weather does, instead of cutting everything to the same length every visit.
Rentals, vacant blocks and pre-sale
Scheduled and one-off mowing
Property managers and investors
Scheduled mowing on tenanted and vacant properties across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, with completion photos for the file when you need them.
Overgrown and vacant blocks
Brought back in stages — a first heavy cut and clean-up, then onto a normal cycle — which avoids council long-grass notices and gets the property presentable for inspections.
Selling
A lawn cut on a proper cycle for a month photographs far better than one mowed the day before the shoot. Book the round in early so the grass evens out.
One contractor
The person who quotes the job is the person who does it — no rotating crews.
No surprises
How your quote works
Tell us the address and roughly what you need — a couple of photos help. Guido reviews every quote himself, and takes a look in person where it makes a difference.
The price is worked out on property size, access, condition and scope, then confirmed with you as one fixed figure before any work starts. No hourly meter, no “we’ll sort it out on the day”, and no charge for the quote.
If you go ahead, that’s the price. If you don’t, there’s no obligation and no follow-up pressure.
Every job is quoted upfront based on lawn size, access, frequency, edging requirements and the level of presentation needed, so you know what is included before work begins.

Frequently asked
How often should my lawn be mowed in Newcastle?
Through the warm season, October to March, most local couch, kikuyu and buffalo lawns need a cut every 7 to 10 days. In the cooler months a three to four-week cycle is usually enough. We set the schedule to the lawn and adjust it as the seasons change rather than locking you into one interval all year.
Do you bring your own equipment and take away clippings?
Yes. We arrive with mowers, line trimmers, edgers and blowers, and we take clippings away unless you would rather keep them for compost. There is nothing you need to provide.
Which Newcastle and Hunter suburbs do you mow?
Across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens, including Merewether, Hamilton, New Lambton, Kotara, Adamstown, Mayfield, Broadmeadow, Charlestown, Warners Bay, Cardiff, Belmont, Stockton and the surrounding areas.
Do I need to be home for the mow?
Not if there is clear access to the lawn and gates are not locked. We confirm access before the first visit and let you know when the round is done.
What happens if it rains on my mowing day?
If the ground is too wet to cut cleanly without rutting the lawn we move the visit to the next suitable day and tell you. A soft surface torn up by a mower takes weeks to recover.
Can you handle a lawn that is badly overgrown?
Yes. Overgrown and vacant-block lawns are cut back in stages rather than in one pass, so the grass is not scalped and the clean-up is manageable. After that first tidy we move you onto a normal cycle.
Is a regular round cheaper than one-off mowing?
Often, yes. A lawn kept under control on a schedule is quicker each visit than a one-off on a lawn that has got away, and the price per visit usually reflects that. It depends on lawn size, access, frequency and edging.
