What we provide

Soft wash.
Not high pressure.

A house exterior should not be cleaned with a pressure washer turned up — it forces water behind cladding and window seals, strips chalking paint and etches render. A soft wash lifts the growth and grime chemically, with a dwell time and a gentle rinse. The dirt does the leaving; the wall stays intact.

Why Newcastle houses get dirty faster

Salt on the coast, humidity everywhere

Coastal salt film

From Merewether and Bar Beach to Stockton and Redhead, salt carries in on the sea breeze and settles as a fine film that holds dust and dulls paint — whether the house is near the water or a few streets back.

Shaded walls grow green

South and east-facing walls, side passages, eaves and gutter exteriors grow algae, mould and lichen within a year or two of the last clean. Rendered and light-coloured houses show it worst.

Black gutter streaks

The black streaking under gutter joints and around windows is almost always organic growth rather than staining, and a soft wash with pre-treatment lifts it.

Results that last

Because a soft wash treats the growth rather than blasting the surface film, the finish holds — roughly one to two years on a coastal property, longer on a sunnier inland block.

Before a sale, before a repaint

The cheapest lift a house exterior gets

Pre-sale

Render comes back to its real colour and the black streaks go, so it photographs like a house that's been looked after. Book it two to three weeks before the photographer for weather margin.

Before painting

Paint doesn't bond over mould, chalk or salt film. A soft wash gives the painter a clean, sound surface — most will otherwise charge a premium to wash it themselves.

Windows rinsed

Windows are rinsed as part of the wash. A full window clean, and roof washing, are quoted separately when you want them.

One contractor

The person who quotes the job is the person who does it — no rotating crews.

No surprises

How your quote works

Tell us the address and roughly what you need — a couple of photos help. Guido reviews every quote himself, and takes a look in person where it makes a difference.

The price is worked out on property size, access, condition and scope, then confirmed with you as one fixed figure before any work starts. No hourly meter, no “we’ll sort it out on the day”, and no charge for the quote.

If you go ahead, that’s the price. If you don’t, there’s no obligation and no follow-up pressure.

Every job is quoted upfront based on property size, access, condition and scope, so you know what is included before work begins.

Frequently asked

Is it safe for painted render and weatherboard?

Yes — that's exactly what soft washing is for. The pressure stays low, so there's no risk of stripping paint, etching render or driving water behind cladding. The cleaning solution does the work, not the machine.

How often should a Newcastle house be washed?

On the coast, every one to two years keeps salt film and organic growth from building up. Further inland and on sunnier blocks you can usually stretch it to every two to three years. South-facing and shaded walls are the ones that come back first.

What's the difference between house washing and pressure washing?

House washing is a low-pressure soft wash for vertical surfaces — walls, render, cladding, eaves. Pressure washing is for hard flat surfaces like driveways, paths and patios, using higher pressure and a surface cleaner. They're separate jobs; we do both.

Will it remove the black streaks under my gutters?

Usually, yes. That streaking is almost always algae and mould rather than permanent staining, and a soft wash with pre-treatment lifts it. Very old, weathered-in marks on porous render occasionally don't come all the way out, and we'll tell you if that looks likely before starting.

Do you do the roof as well?

Roof washing is available and quoted separately, since it needs safe roof access and a different approach. It's often worth doing at the same time as the walls if the roof has gone green.

Which suburbs do you cover for house washing?

Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens, including Merewether, Hamilton, New Lambton, Kotara, Adamstown, Mayfield, Broadmeadow, Charlestown, Warners Bay, Cardiff, Belmont, Stockton and the surrounding areas.

Do I need to be home?

Usually not, if access is clear and there's an outside tap available. We confirm access and water before the job and let you know when it's done.

What happens if weather affects the job?

If weather affects surface cleaning or drying conditions, the job may be rescheduled so the result and safety of the work are protected.
